Last week, Glen Ng from Drum Feng hosted the Drum Up! Workshop at the Esplanade Annexe Studio as part of Esplanade Moonfest 艺满中秋 2022. Our Drum Up Workshop consisted of two sessions of drumming that were 1.5 hours long each.

The workshop introduced participants to the rich heritage and history behind Chinese drums. Aside from that, participants were also introduced to the basic theory of beat, rhythm and music notation.

But perhaps the most fun part of all was hitting the drums!
Our workshops aim to be as inclusive as possible. Regardless of how extensive their music background was, the participants had tons of fun with learning and engaging with this ancient art practice. Through our workshops and events, we hope to reinforce the message that you can learn to play the drums at any age.
