About Fitness Drumming
Targeting different body groups including but not limited to your arms, legs and core muscles, Drum Feng’s Fitness Drumming is an endurance programme. Imagine this - lunge to your left for 2 counts, hitting the drum for 4, and lunge to your right for another 2 counts. Repeat 10 reps. Sounds easy? Wait till you try it for yourself!
Why Drum?
With a combination of exercises incorporated with actual drumming, participants worked BOTH their body and mind. When you drum, you activate your brain to synchronise its visual encoding and muscular coordination. In essence, when you move along to the rhythmic beats, you're exercising not only your body, but your mind as well. A challenge for some, yet intriguing for all!
Held at Gardens By The Bay, we found ourselves at Active Garden (how apt a name for our class!), set against an impressive view of the flora and fauna our city has to offer. It was so heartening to see people from all walks of life step out their comfort zone to explore something different the other day, and we hope for you to, too!
